Locking wheel nut removal
Lost key, key snapped, or a garage has already rounded the nut off? It’s a routine job, it doesn’t need a main dealer, and we can do it at the roadside with the wheel still on the car.

This guy literally saved my life. My wheel went close to Duxford and they came within 30 minutes on a Sunday around 6pm and fixed it on the spot for a very good price. Like, who does that? Thanks to them I didn’t have to pay a fortune for a recovery.
What an amazing service — really fast, efficient and friendly. Puncture sorted in under an hour after my first message. Highly recommended local business.
Called up and he was here within the hour. Two tyres done on the drive. Top bloke and amazing service.
Great service — got a puncture and he was able to fit a premium tyre for my car the same day.
No trouble too small. Came out as soon as possible and fitted in the dark. Great service.
His prices were fair, and the quality of service was excellent.
Saved the day, in all honesty, and really good professional service.
He’s an absolute credit to himself and his family.
Why this happens so often
Locking wheel nut keys live in a glovebox, a boot well or a spare wheel cradle, and they go missing when a car changes hands or gets valeted. The key itself is a soft alloy part designed to wear, and after a few impact-gun removals the pattern rounds off and it simply spins.
The worst version is a nut that has been over-tightened by an air gun at a fast-fit centre and then rounded by someone trying to shift it with the wrong tool. That’s the one people ring us about at the roadside, usually with a flat tyre they can’t get to.
How it’s removed without wrecking the wheel
Proper extraction sockets, not a hammer and a chisel. A reverse-spiral extractor bites into the outside of the nut and turns it off, and for badly rounded or seized nuts we work up through sizes rather than going straight to brute force.
The care goes into protecting the alloy. Locking nuts usually sit in a recessed well, and a slip in there leaves a gouge that can’t be polished out. We shield the face of the wheel and work slowly. A rushed extraction can cost far more in wheel refurbishment than the removal ever saved.
What happens afterwards
Once the nut is off we can carry on with whatever you actually called about: the puncture, the new tyre, the wheel swap. The removed nut is replaced with a standard bolt or nut of the correct type, seat shape and thread, which matters: a conical seat bolt in a radiused seat will work loose.
If you want the security back, we can supply and fit a fresh locking set with a new key. Plenty of people choose not to bother, and given how often the keys go missing that’s a perfectly reasonable decision.
