It’s the main artery between the M11 and Braintree, it carries a heavy volume of airport and freight traffic, and the dual sections encourage the sort of speed that turns a small puncture into a shredded tyre in under a mile. We get called to the Dunmow stretch and the roundabouts at Little Dunmow and Marks Farm regularly, often at night when the freight is moving. We carry boards for the jack if needed. What we can’t safely work on is a steep slope or soft, waterlogged ground, in which case we’ll ask you to move the vehicle a few yards onto something harder.
